Thinking Things allows you, not only to control your things and your sites, but to create new ideas. You can check in the map where is parked your car. You can tweet if your room temperature is perfect. And you can make more astounding services if you want to code.

The Thinking Things are different plastic cubes that you can put together like Lego pieces. Each block has a different function. A set of connected blocks is called a stack. You can put as many blocks in the same stack.
Presence
The presence sensor detects movement of persons in front of it.
Ambient
The ambient module measures the air temperature, air humidity and ambient light.
Battery
The Energy module is the battery of the stack. It can run and charge connected to a microUSB adaptor or even to a PC. It has a battery that can feed the stack independently. Its life depends on mobile coverage and time between connections. Present batteries can feed a stack, connecting every hour, for one month. You can put more than one module for longer life. Communication
Every stack needs a connectivity module or “core”. The connectivity module sends data from the other modules to the web page periodically. You can control this periodicity from the web page controls. It uses the mobile network, so it runs wherever your mobile phone runs. In case you are wondering, yes, it has a SIM inside. Just with the core module you get an approximate position of the stack (1Km in urban zones, 5Km or more in rural areas).
All the capabilities of Thinking Things exposed as a single, industrial Arduino-compatible board. Make your own circuit, connect it to the Internet, program it remotely.
Thinking Things connect practically everywhere in the world, right out of the box, through mobile connectivity with built-in Telefónica M2M SIMs

The Thinking Things use the mobile network to connect. So they can run in any country with a GSM network. They have an embedded Telefónica SIM which, through the Telefonica roaming agreements, runs in most of the world. For starters Thinking Things is running in most of the European Union countries, United States and most of Latin American countries. Please check the updated list while buying.
You can pay in advance for 6 or 12 months of Thinking Things service. This services include GSM communications, so you don’t have to care about countries, networks or data usage.
Monitor and control Thinking Things remotely, and create automatic behaviors via our easy-to-use web and mobile interfaces. Use automatic triggers to send alerts via SMS, email, Twitter, etc

Using Thinking Things is extremely easy. Just snap together the modules, switch the battery on, and see the information!
To use Thinking Things snap together your stack, for example a battery, communications module and ambient sensor. Switch the battery on. Visit the web page and see there your stack. You will see the information coming from the real world to your screen. But there is much more to do.

See what’s happening, see what has happened.
In the web page you will see the last measure received from the modules. You will see also the stack in a map. You can see the route followed by the stack in the last days. And you can also see the data in graphs, from the last hour to the last months. You can combine different information sources in the same graph, so you can check for example if the temperature rises when the sun hits your windows.

Make the Things Think for you.
The web page gives you the capability to define simple but powerful rules that the system will execute for you. For example, you can receive an email if your home gets too cold, or twit when the lights go off. You can define alarms for those things that are very important for you. We will show you the activated alarms, so you don’t have to monitor the web, and we can report them to you automatically.

Thinking Things run out of the box. Anywhere.
The Thinking Things run connecting to the mobile network. This network is present everywhere, and we want to make it even more useful for you and for your things. And in case you are wondering, yes, the communications modules have a SIM inside, but we have made it invisible for your convenience.
If you are a developer you can do many more things with your blocks. Everything you do through the web through the web can be done by any software of yours. It only has to connect to an extremely simple API. So you can write an App to check your home, or connect the stack to the logistics systems of your company. The API runs in Telefónica gateways, so you can get the data at any moment, even if the modules are disconnected.
We are sure you will be able to make new, incredible things. So don’t hesitate to try it. And ask us for any support you may need.
